Lula Glitter Ballet Flats

Beautiful J.Crew flat, how glittery art thou? Very. For $135 available on their site. The pale gold glitter against the silver cap toe feels luxurious. Another flat to add to your collection. I'll be adding this to my wish list :)

Bamboo-tassel ballet flats

The bamboo-tassel ballet flat is available at Jcrew.com for $158. It's a very sweet looking shoe that just screams daintiness :) I personally though will wait till this goes on sale. While it's a beautiful shoe, the price is a little steep for something quite delicate like silk that could easily be damaged.

Here's the product description:

The perfect pair to add a little extra pep to your step in pretty new prints, just in time for summer. Silk (sweet papaya), cotton (papaya) or linen (navy) upper with grosgrain trim and a bamboo toggle bead. Twill lining. Leather footbed and sole. Made in Italy.

Jcrew Joley patent-leather peep-toe flats

I am loving this shoe for the spring and summer time. Pair it with cropped pants, khakis, skinny jeans, skirts, capris and dresses. Available on the Jcrew website for $128. I'd also love to buy it in black and sour lemon (above image is stone colored). Will definitely be stalking these shoes till they go on sale!!!

is it a jacket? or a sweater?

im always on the lookout for cropped jackets that I can wear all year round that can be both dressed up and dressed down. last week i found one at H&M that is awesome and has wonderful detailing for a great price ($34).

Here is another beautiful example from JCrew:

The Jacinda Jacket on sale for $99.99!

It is available in black and honey glaze (pictured above and below).

Product description:

A ladylike design with the softness of a sweater and the refined tailoring of a jacket. Merino wool in a 12-gauge double knit. Fitted. Three-quarter sleeves. Hits at hip. Import. Dry clean.

This is a great piece to have in your closet because it can be worn at work as a great substitute for a blazer. Because it's supposed to be a sweater as well it is incredibly comfortable and snuggly. The sweater/jacket really blends the best of both worlds together.
My favorite perk is that I can wear it under a heavy wool coat and not feel like a stuffed sausage (the way I normally do when I'm wearing a heavier sweater, like THIS ONE).

On an unrelated note, I came across again the flickr photo set of an incredibly stylish gal in NYC.

I love love love love her looks!!! It's smart, chic, creative, and I love how she mixes high end and lo end pieces. I find so many of her outfits to be things that I would wear or do wear personally.
Her looks were incredibly inspirational to me the other night.

Jcrew coupon!

The Jcrew sale is still going on! I just purchased a dress for a whopping $13.99 after the EXTRA30 code that only applies to sale items. There is nothing more satisfying than scoring a great deal on a normally more pricey item and then have more discount to add on top of it!

Sale alert: J.Crew

Till saturday you can get an extra 20 % off at jcrew with code EXTRA20.

Here are my favorite flats from their sale section:

These two above are my top picks because of their versatility. The yellow is a fantastic color that can be easily worn with my fave colors black and white, for both a night out on town and for a weekend errand. The peeptoe is so much like the shoes Charlize Theron was wearing when she was on a night out (that I previously blogged about). Patent continues to grow on me because in rainy DC I could use all the help I can get with shoes that are made out of sturdier stuff.

Which is not a surprise then that these final 2 are also patent! hehehe...

The first is a classic flat, easily worn for work or for play. As my mother knows I am a huge fan of the maryjane. I love the stitching details on the gray maryjane that makes this shoe more interesting and put together.

Now, if I only had more $$$ to buy all of them...

On a completely unrelated note, after chatting with a friend today I realize that my non-essential expenditures mostly revolve around clothes, shoes, accessories, and toiletries/makeup.

Though while I spend more frequently on girly stuff, I make sure its as frugal as possible. I endure buyers remorse more often than not if I make a purchase over $100. Though this year I have allowed myself to be a little more flexible and spent on some quality investment pieces.

This year's majority of moolah was spent on traveling, educational investments, and of course giving the government more money. =P

With 2008 almost over, I'm back to saving...and eagerly waiting for christmas money to come in. hehehhehe
