memorial day weekend buy

It's not too often that I buy heels, but this one was too good of a deal to pass up! :) Isn't she pretty? This is the Dacoda from Bandolino in light pink for only $41!!! Yes, I stopped by the mall yesterday and found these babies. Its a round toe patent with a 2 1/2 inch heel and also comes in black and light gray. The light gray ones are also very pretty and would go with many an outfit. The black pair when I tried them on wasn't that fantastic for me.

But I do love how this shoe can be used for both work and play! And if any shoe would embody the classic ballerina flat in heel form, i think this is a pretty good candidate.

you can buy these online at http://www.bandolino.com

Luving gray

I love topshop! They have some great pics for affordable prices as well. Here are my current favorites!

of course there had to be a flat!!!! this is absolutely adorable! it's such a dainty maryjane that just screams femenine to me.

not surprisingly all my favorites are some shade of gray. i am absolutely in love with the color! its a wonderful basic and a great alternative to black.

where art thou dress?

this weekend was spent hunting for shoes and a dress to wear to the upcoming 2007 News and Radio Correspondents dinner which I will be attending next week. i already have shoes in mind (ivette caparros courtesy zappos.com) but after 2 days worth of looking the elusive dress still remains, elusive.

i have these fabulous chocolate brown satin heels but no dress to match. i may have to dig into the closet and wear something from back there, but here's to we'll see. all the dresses I saw this weekend were all fun spring day dresses! and a tooooooooon of jersey!!! everywhere!!!!

i went to the department stores as well but nada...

earlier I checked nordstroms.com and there were a couple of promising looking frocks. i may head over to norstroms again to check if they are at the store so i can try them on. for under $100 they had some pretty cute stuff.

instead though, i did walk out with a great grey sweater from Zara.

a funny things happened on the way too...brings about contemplation.

Why flats?

Ever since I was a little girl, I knew that I lived for flats. I even remember my first pair...or pairs I should say. One was a aquamarine blue and the other was fuscia. I was 13 years old and they matched 2 pairs of rather hideous leggings that I owned back in the early 90s.

Fast forward to the present day: flats are God's gift to women! They are extremely comfortable while giving an ultra feminine look. If you are on your feet all day working, the right pair of flats would look dynamite with any outfit without killing your feet (think of wearing 3 inch heels all day, we're not all Beyonce who can dance like a mad woman on heels!)

Here are some wonderful online resources to purchase your flats:

http://www.piperlime.com - they just came out with their spring flats selection! all gorgeous! i particularly adore the Ann Klein ones.

http://www.zappos.com - online shoe store giant Zappos.com also has a very extensive catalogue of flats with varying price ranges so you can find the cutest pair whatever your tastes may be.

for the money conscious here's some places to poke through:

http://www.payless.com - ive gotten many a cheap flat here with varying quality. some have lasted longer than others naturally, but over all not bad if you're just itching to buy a trendy pair.

http://www.gap.com - they've been coming out with cute flats lately. Last holiday they had a satin ballet flat line in silver, black, chocolate brown, and gold. all incredibly cute!

http://www.aldo.com - another cheaper alternative with loads of different styles. I would check their online store as well as regular retail stores frequently because they always have different stock.

http://www.ninewest.com - nine west flats are always comfortable and always well made!!! i've been shopping with them since I was young.

http://www.dsw.com - check out your local DSW as well, they have a fairly large collection and constantly have new items on their sale racks.
